New Delhi: Business Finland, WinZO, and the Interactive Entertainment and Innovation Council (IEIC) have announced a landmark India-Finland gaming collaboration to boost gaming synergies.

The partnership seeks to leverage Finland’s globally recognized gaming expertise alongside India’s rapidly growing gaming market to co-create innovative, export-ready gaming content from India.

As the first step in this collaboration, the partners launched a detailed case study at the Embassy of Finland in New Delhi, showcasing Finland’s success in building a world-class gaming industry.

Finland has become one of the most successful gaming economies globally, generating over USD 3.9 billion in annual revenue, with 98% of it from exports. Popular gaming titles such as Angry Birds by Rovio and Clash of Clans by Supercell have made Finland a benchmark in mobile-first, casual gaming innovation.

India’s Growing Gaming Ecosystem

India is home to more than 600 million gamers, accounting for nearly 20% of global mobile game downloads. With a diverse player base, vibrant content creator community, and expanding developer ecosystem, India is positioned to learn from Finland’s gaming export model to build its own globally competitive gaming intellectual property.

H.E. Kimmo Lähdevirta, Ambassador of Finland in India, said: “Finland consistently ranks among Europe’s top gaming hubs. Our industry is world-renowned, and we believe India’s scale combined with Finnish expertise creates a strong match.”
